Leigh tells us about her personal favorite, the Chase Ultimate Rewards Cards. We learn about how their points work, and who their Airline and Hotel Transfer partners are. Then they talk about their New Years Eve trip to Key West, Leigh’s review of the Chive’s New Year’s party, and Sean fondly remembers drunkenly befriending a stray cat.

What are Chase Ultimate Rewards? They are the super versatile points offered by Chase Credit Card. You sign up for the card, meet the minimum spending requirement and receive the bonus! Chase Ultimate Reward Points can be transferred almost instantly and in increments of 1,000 to it’s partners:

Airline Transfer Partners (1:1):

  • United (Star Alliance)
  • Southwest Airlines
  • British Airways (One World)
  • Korean Air (Sky Team)
  • Virgin Atlantic

Hotel Transfer Partners (1:1):

  • Hyatt
  • Marriott
  • IHG
  • Ritz-Carlton

This is where it gets really exciting, and why we concentrate on United, Southwest, Hyatt and IHG… Chase offers co-branded cards for each partner, therefore you could get a Southwest card with 50,000 points bonus and a Chase Sapphire Preferred Ultimate Rewards card for 40,000. You then can transfer your 40,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points to your Southwest Rapid Rewards program for a total of 90,000 points. You can do the same for any of the Chase Ultimate Reward partners.

The Strategy is to apply for the card(s) when they are offering their best bonus’s. Since the bonus’s will change, check our current credit card deals & offers page. If the bonus is too low, I will let you know, then simply move on to the next card. You can apply for multiple cards at a time, which is not a problem as long as you can meet the minimum spending requirements in the allowed time for all cards.
